Prince Edward County Community Development Department

The Community Development Department partners with the BIA annually in the production of print marketing material. In addition, the CDD assists the BIA by facilitating connections with other groups and individuals in a number of endeavors. 

Community Futures Development Corporation of Prince Edward & Lennox and Addington

Community Futures of Prince Edward Lennox & Addington helps local entrepreneurs with free business advisory services and provides access to capital through their grants and loans programs.

Prince Edward Chamber of Commerce

A membership-based organization available to all businesses in Prince Edward County. The Chamber advocates to policy makers on behalf of businesses and is a primary source of information for residents and tourists.

Small Business Centre Serving Prince Edward County and Quinte Region

The Small Business Centre is a one-stop centre for entrepreneurs and small business owners. 

Counsellors provide information on a full range of topics, from business start-up to growing your business right through to succession planning. Whatever stage you’re in, the Small Business Centre can help find the resources you need.

 

BIAs Serving Other Communities in Prince Edward County

The Picton BIA has previously worked with the Bloomfield Area Business Association, the Wellington and District Business Association, and the Consecon and Area Ratepayers Association in the development of print marketing materials in collaboration with the Prince Edward County Community Development Department. These organizations continue to update one another about events and promotions that take place in their respective communities.

Heritage Property Grant Program

If your property is located within the Heritage Conservation District, you could receive up to 50% of the costs associated with:

  • Facade Improvement

  • Structural Improvement

  • Heritage Restoration

  • Interior Rehabilitation

  • Landscaping & Property Improvement

  • Signage Improvement

Winter Survival Workshops

The Winter Survival Workshops are administered by The Community Development Department in partnership with The Small Business Centre, Prince Edward/Lennox & Addington Community Futures Development Corporation (PELA CFDC) and the Prince Edward County Chamber of Tourism and Commerce. These partnering organizations identify relevant topics through data compiled by partners as well as agency meetings and client feedback. Workshops are then created to contribute to business knowledge, transformation, performance and growth.

Tents

The BIA owns 5 10’x10’ tents that are available to be loaned out. If you have a special event, we are happy to loan you a tent!

Giant Games

The BIA currently has a giant checkerboard and a giant Connect Four game, available to be loaned to members.
